Project Athena - Day 209 (Winter)

Blue Icicle Towers

This summer, I visited the Chihuly glass art exhibit at the Denver Botanic Gardens on several occasions and this spectacular piece that greeted visitors at the entrance was truly one of my favorites. 650 glass “icicles” dazzled the sky, both day and night.

I chose to share this as a winter photo, even though it was taken in August, because I love the cool winter colors and the glossy, smooth surfaces juxtapose to needle sharp spikes. It represents the winter season perfectly. Enjoy.

Chihuly White Flowers

I never met a color I didn’t like.

This is one of my favorites at the Chihuly exhibit in Denver. I could spend days photographing this amazing art. If you have not seen it yet, I hope you can carve out the time for a trip to Denver. It's so worth it. This artist breaths life into glass and while it's an absolute mystery to me how these wondrous sculptures are created, I am in awe.

"Summer Sun"

Denver Botanic Gardens presents the Rocky Mountain Region’s first major outdoor exhibition of artwork by Chihuly. Chihuly’s sculptures – ranging in size and form – add bold colors and dramatic beauty to the Gardens’ 24-acre urban oasis.

Just WOW!  And thank you Mom and Dad for this amazing experience. The flowers were pretty too.
