Project Athena - Day 299 (Words)

Looking for a Little Magic

Can I just say how difficulty it is to be creative and inspired when physical pain is wracking the body. Some of you out there following this blog know exactly what I am saying and my prayers go out to you, as well as myself, for healing and magic. I am ready to get back to the business of creativity.

Relaxing with Violet

These giant rosettes of frilly violet leaves are one of my favorite plants, especially because they tolerate the cold Colorado weather. They can keep their brilliant color all the way into spring and their colors even intensify in the cold. I found this one still thriving at the CSU flower garden where I spent a lot of time shooting this last summer.

Violet has the highest vibration in the visible spectrum. In the chakra system, it is the color of the spiritual crown at the top of the head. This is the bridge between body and spirit. Violet can also represent lushness and is often seen in motifs that portray wealth, fame and royalty.

Violet is the the color of the daydreamer. I like to use it as a portal to escape from the practicalities of everyday life and step into the fantasy world. Gazing upon this color with the eyes or breathing in its fragrant essence from a violet colored plant such as lavender creates a harmonious environment for both the mind and the emotions. For me, it is the color of relaxation and well being.

Indigo Dreams

Indigo is my favorite color of all the colors. It is a combination of deep blue and violet and holds the attributes of both of these colors. Indigo is the color of intuition and perception. It supports opening the third eye chakra to help "see" beyond the normal sensory perceptions. I often dream in the color indigo and experience freedom from the three dimensional world i normally live in. Indigo dreams take me to other dimensions beyond what is known with the mind.

I utilize this color in meditation to achieve deeper levels of consciousness. It can also stimulate right brain or creative activity. I love wearing the color indigo especially when I want to portray a sense of dignity, integrity and sincerity or evoke devotion and wisdom. Just Yum!
