Project Athena - Day 169 (Gratitude)

A Week of Gratitude

The wispy gentleness of these delicately snow capped plants reminds me of the gratitude I feel for the seasons and natural cycles in life. When I choose to live in sync with these cycles, life is so much more joyful.

As we move full on into this winter cycle with the cold temperatures, the blustery wind, and the blankets of white snow, I surrender to the Season of the North. I am grateful for this time to go inward and rest. It is also a time for community, to reconnect with family and friends by the warmth of a fire with some good food and laughter. It is a time to let the body rest and allow the land to rest as well. And even though this time of year can take people into a frenzy with preparations for the holidays, I am willing to surrender to the short days and long nights, to let my entire being rest, to feel the gratitude of a bountiful harvest this year and enjoy the company of those I love. Ah-Ho.
